, You could BBQ in the back yard for Labor Day, but you’ve been doing that for years. Let’s level up our Labor Day plans and take a mini-break in BEAUTIFUL Barbados!

Sep 2nd – 6th, 2021

Location: Bridgetown, Barbados

Our Itinerary:

Day 1

We’re diving right into spring break, literally with a Welcome Pool Party.

Get checked in and join us at the pool! It’s probably the best way to relax after a long flight and full transparency, a long ride from the airport.

After we’ve enjoyed ourselves at the pool, we’ll fill our hungry bellies at our welcome dinner.

Day 2

Let’s sleep in a bit, grab breakfast at the hotel, hang out on the beach for a bit then we’ll head out into the ocean blue via the pirate ship we’re we’ll get to dress up like pirates and have a party at sea!

The pirate ship will make two stops.  The firts for a bit for us to float, swim, or even make our kids walk the plank!

The second stop will allow us to snorkel to a shipwreck. The wreck is that of  the “Bajan Queen” and is located in Carlisle Bay,

This promises to be a super fun experience!

In the evening, the parents will have the option of sneaking away from the kiddos to visit the Mount Gay Rum Distillery for a special rum and cocktail tasting experience.

Day 3

On this day, we will combine some wonder with some learning (we love sneaking some fun learning into our trips). We’re going to visit Harrison’s Cave and let those Earth Science lessons come to life!

Located in the central uplands of the island, this crystallized, limestone cave is characterized by flowing streams, deep pools of crystal clear water and towering columns.

In the evening, we’ll do the one thing that shows up on EVERYONE’S Must Do In Barbados list – we’ll hit Oistin’s Fish Fry.

Trust us, this is much more than just a fish fry, it’s an event! It goes down every Friday night.  The area is filled with stalls from artisan’s selling their handmade crafts and hot fire pits with trained and tested grillers serving up the best fresh fish the country has to offer. You have to try something you’ve never had before – Baracuda is a crowd favorite and you likely won’t be able to stop talking about it when you get back to the states.

As the sun gets lower, the Fish Fry turns into a proper street party. If you and the kids are down, stay for a spell and cut a few two steps!

Day 4

Our last day will be a pretty chill one, the whole point of Labor Day weekend is to not have to get up early and rush off anywhere, right?

You and the kiddos are free to enjoy the grounds at our hotel, indulge in the water sports, or peruse the city at your liesure.

But we’ll need you back in the evening for a super special activity you and the kiddos will never forget.

As the sun dips past the horizon, we’ll be dipping underneath the ocean…ON A SUBMARINE!! Yep, we’re doing a night dive via submarine to see how our friends in the deep seas spend their evenings. No matter how old your kids are, you’ll definitely score some cool points for this one, momma!

Day 5

Parting is always such sweet sorrow and a “long weekend” is never quite long enough but we know you and the kiddos will return home refreshed, reconnected, and happy to have made new friends and had new experiences together!
